Waterleaf Women’s Center has launched its “2,010 for 2010” campaign. According to Paul Coronado, C.O.O, “We launched this campaign in response to the overwhelming offers of assistance from the local community and from around the country” said Paul Coronado, C.O.O. “Every day we are approached by individuals and organizations who want to contribute in some way to our mission but are not sure how. This is a simple and easy way to help.”
The goal of the “2,010 for 2010” campaign is to find 2,010 “Lifeguards” to donate $10 monthly for 2010. Donations can be made via a secure link on the website while a counter on the website will display the current “Lifeguard” count. All of the proceeds will be used to support Waterleaf’s free and confidential services including a 24-hour hotline, free pregnancy testing, counseling, adoption information and referral, and material assistance.
“In these tough economic times, many not-for-profits are finding creative ways to raise money” said Kelly Gorsky, Waterleaf Board President. “Though we have some very generous donors, it is not realistic to expect that everyone who wants to support us has the propensity to give us a large gift. Almost anyone, however, can afford $10 each month”.
